SSIP (Safety Schemes in Procurement) reduces health and safety assessment duplication, saving you vital time and money. With a Constructionline membership, you get Once For All Health & Safety SSIP at no extra cost.
SSIP stands for Safety Schemes in Procurement. This is an umbrella organisation that reduces health and safety assessment duplication across projects.
Rather than being assessed by multiple health and safety schemes – which is not only time-consuming but also costly – SSIP helps simplify and streamline your construction procurement processes.
All Constructionline’s paid memberships come with SSIP through Once For All Health & Safety, helping you easily cut costs and remove duplication from your workloads.
Part of our parent company, Once For All, Once For All Health & Safety is a member of Safety Schemes in Procurement. When you upgrade to a paid Constructionline membership, Once For All Health & Safety will undertake an online assessment of your health and safety documentation and work activities. This determines whether you have the right systems and processes in place, so project partners can know with certainty that you will fulfil your health and safety responsibilities to the highest possible standards.
Once For All Health & Safety is committed to improving health and safety standards across the UK, while reducing the duplication of paperwork in procurement. All Once For All Health & Safety SSIP assessments are undertaken by a designated health and safety team.
Endorsed by UKAS the Once For All Health & Safety SSIP certificate means you can rest assured a project partner meets all the relevant health and safety requirements.

For suppliers, SSIP is increasingly becoming a prerequisite for many tenders – especially public sector contracts. An SSIP certificate illustrates that your health and safety documentation and processes has been reviewed by an independent assessor, and meets a defined standard.
Combined with the ability to save time and money, reduce duplication on assessments, and demonstrate to clients that health and safety is a primary concern, SSIP is recommended for all ambitious, forward-thinking businesses.
If you’re a client, SSIP shows you’re taking a comprehensive approach to health and safety standards for your project. You can better manage risk and streamline the procurement process for your supplier network, while freeing up time and cost to focus on the project-specific areas of the pre-qualification process.
No. The assessment schemes, such as Once For All Health and Safety, are registered members of SSIP. Once you complete the SSIP assessment, you become verified and receive an SSIP certificate.
Separated into 12 distinct sections, the core criteria for the SSIP check include: health and safety policy and organisation for health and safety; arrangements; competent advice – corporate and construction related; training and information; individual qualifications and experience; monitoring, audit and review; workforce involvement; accident reporting and enforcement action; subcontracting / consulting procedures; risk assessment leading to a safe system of work; cooperating with others and coordinating your work with that of other contractors; and welfare provision.
There are additional criteria for designers and principal designers too, covering hazard elimination and risk control, and specific principal designer duties.
The SSIP Portal offers live, up-to-date information on contractors registered with members of Safety Schemes in Procurement.
What if you already have a valid SSIP through another member? You can then obtain a Deem to Satisfy Certificate from Once For All Health & Safety. This is available at a reduced fee, without the need to complete yet another pre-qualification certificate.
